Description
- In line with the County’s vision for sustainability and in an effort to consolidate departments and accommodate future growth, the County of San Joaquin designed and constructed a premier facility in the center of the Stockton. Honored with the 2009 Project of the Year Award from the American Public Works Association, the project also achieved LEED® Gold Certification. Recycled materials and energy efficient systems were built into the facility including day lighting, building automation systems, energy management systems, photovoltaic panels, and energy efficient HVAC. Environmental impacts in fabrication, installation, longevity and post life disposal were all considerations in material selection and the construction process. 3QC not only provided enhanced commissioning for the facility and systems but also developed and is managing a Measurement and Verification program to monitor and control energy usage of the facility to help ensure that the client’s energy efficiency goals are met through the life cycle of the facility.

Under an IDIQ contract we provided energy audits and retro-commissioning services for several existing buildings as well as developed life cycle cost estimates for repair of these facilities. After award of our second IDIQ contract we received several new courthouse projects throughout California. We are performing LEED® Enhanced Commissioning services on these new courthouses which are each pursuing LEED® Silver (or higher) certification. We are commissioning the MEP systems, lighting systems, low voltage and AV systems, the security and CCTV systems as well as the smoke evacuation and fire alarm systems.

Description
- To boost efficiency in processing distribution for their West Sacramento facility, the USPS constructed an expansion to the existing facility. 3QC was hired to ensure that all mechanical, electrical and processing equipment systems met USPS design, installation, and functional standards. In addition, a critical project requirement was that all USPS maintenance personnel had the documentation and training to successfully and efficiently operate the facility. 3QC tested all MEP equipment to verify correct functionality and also developed a systems manual for the maintenance and operation staff demonstrating correct operation of all the equipment and including equipment set points for both normal and seasonal operation.
